Privacy for Storage Keeper
In brief: Storage Keeper needs no account, shows no ads and sends no data to VULEN. Your storage areas, entries and shopping lists stay on your device, or on your own home server if you use one.
Who is responsible?
VULEN is responsible for this app (provider details). The app does not transmit usage data to us. If you email us, our website and contact privacy notice applies.
What the app stores, and where
- On your phone: storage areas, entries, shopping list and settings, in the app's protected storage area, which other apps cannot access.
- On your own home server, if configured: the same data, so several devices can share a consistent state. The server runs on your computer on your home network. VULEN operates no server for your data and has no access to it.
- iPhone: you use your home server's web app in Safari. Data is stored on your server; Safari stores connection settings and a working copy on your phone.
The app uses no analytics or advertising services, crash reports, tracking identifiers or third-party services.
Network connections
The app connects only when you configure your own home server, and only to that server on your home network. Android uses HTTPS and checks the server certificate. The iPhone web app currently uses unencrypted HTTP on the home network; use it only on a trusted network. Without a home server, the app works entirely without the internet.
Permissions
- Camera: only for scanning QR codes to pair a server or sync phones. Images are processed on your phone and are neither saved nor transmitted.
- Notifications: reminders for entries approaching expiry. They are generated on the phone without transmitting data.
- Network access: only to your own home server, as described above.
The app does not request location, contacts, photo-library or microphone access.
Phone-to-phone sync by QR code
One phone displays QR codes and the other reads them with its camera. Data travels directly from screen to camera, without internet or a server.
Sharing, backup and export
- Sharing: you choose which app, such as a messenger or email app, receives a shopping list or other shared text. That app's terms apply from that point.
- File backup and export: only when you initiate them. You choose the storage location.
- Android backup: if you enable backup through your Google account, Android may back up this app's data and transfer it when changing devices. This is an Android/Google feature, not a VULEN service. You can turn it off in Android's Google backup settings.
Deletion
Uninstalling the app deletes its Android data on the phone. Delete home-server data in the app or server management page. Files you exported and Android backups in your Google account remain until you delete them.
Your rights and contact
We cannot inspect or delete app data stored locally under your control because we have no access to it. Rights relating to information you send us, for example by email, are described in our website privacy notice. Contact [email protected]. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Rhineland-Palatinate: datenschutz.rlp.de.
Changes
We update this notice when app functions affecting privacy change. Last updated: 6 November 2026. Applies to Storage Keeper from version 1.0.0.
